Geneva Coleman

     Geneva B. Coleman, age 89, a beloved wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many passed away peacefully at her home on lower pompey of Shelbiana on the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024 surrounded  by her children.  Born in Pike County, March 19, 1934, the daughter of the late Auda and Ada Justice Bolden. She was the oldest of 13 siblings.Geneva was the wife of the late Nathaniel Coleman Jr. for over 57 years, a homemaker, and an avid gardener.  She loved to drink her diet pepsi, enjoy her children and grandchildren, cook for her family whenever she could, and talk on the phone with whomever called. 

    Along with her husband and parents, Geneva was preceded in death by a baby daughter, Sheila Lynn, daughter in law, Wanda, granddaughter, Kristy Dawn, three brothers, Roger, Dempsey, and Auda Jr. Bolden, and three sisters, Loretta, Juanita, and Augustine.

    Geneva is survived by her children, Kent Douglas (Cathy) Coleman, Donald Gene (Garnet) Coleman, Charlotte Joan (Greg) Zadel, Sandra Renee (Michael) Edmonds, Gregory Darnell (Jerri) Coleman, Michael Craig (Melissa) Coleman, two brothers, Donald Paul Bolden, Delmer Ray Bolden, four sisters, Audrey, Patty, Lottie, and Josephine, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by all of those who are left on this side of Heaven.  Her fierce love and dedication to her family will carry on through all those who love her. 

      Visitation will be Thursday and Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son funeral Home.  Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with A.B. Thacker, Paul Huffman, and others officiating.  Burial will follow in the Coleman Cemetery at Lower Pompey.
