Glynea M. May

Glynea M. May, age 80, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at her home in Kimper, Ky.  Glynea was born on July 12, 1944, to her parents, the late Walter Varney and Edith Anderson-Varney. She was a homemaker, Glynea was preceded in death by her husband William Perry May, and she was a member of the Edo Freewill Baptist Church in Kimper, Ky.

Along with her parents, Glynea was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Adams Jr., Billy Varney, and Dennis Varney, two sisters, Barbara Diamond, Janice Gay Hayes, one granddaughter, Nicole Barnett and one great granddaughter, Noah Claire Akers.  

Glynea is survived by one son, Dwayne May (Linda), two daughters, Bridget Barnett (Rocky), Jennifer Raines (Michael), four sisters, Brenda Slone, Linda Casey, Leona Chapman, and Phylis Varney, eight grandchildren, Courtney Saunders, Faith McCoy (David), Shana Riley (Mikey), Cory May (Madi), Stephanie Hunt (Edward), Jonathon Barnett (Bethany), Kiana Akers (Zachary), and Micah Raines, eleven great grandchildren, Jasmine Saunders, Kaylee Saunders, Caiden Justice, Avory McCoy, Xavier Riley, Ryker Riley, Skylar Riley, Jasper Riley, Jason Stewart, Eli Barnett, Isaac Barnett, a special Niece, Chasity Gerales, and a host of loving family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday April 5, 2025, after 6pm at the Edo Freewill Baptist church. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 7 at 1pm at the Edo Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Blackburn, Bro. Bob Bowman, and Bro. Matt Bowman officiating.  Burial will follow at the Davidson Memorial Gardens.

Special services will be held on Saturday and Sunday nights at 7pm.
