Gordon Potter age 90, of Ashcamp passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Gordon was born on Dec. 16, 1929 to his parents the late John Morgan Potter and Spicy Damron Potter. He was the husband of Lorene Belcher Potter, and a coal operator of Potter's Brother's Mining, G.P. Coal Company, Marathon Coal Corporation, just to name a few. He was also a member of the Little Trimble Old Regular Baptist Church and he served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Along with his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by one grandson, Gordon Thomas Gilbert, one great granddaughter, Kaelyn Grace Mullins, seven brothers, Quay Potter, Clemont Potter, Allison Potter, Alvin Potter, Reed Potter, Ernest Potter, and Johnny Morgan Potter, and eight sisters, Lou Tucker, Myrtle Swindall, Goldie Childress, Maxie Salyers, Alice Mae Epling, Mary Kentucky Potter, Garnett Christine Fowler, and Gladys Potter. Along with his wife, Gordon is survived by three daughters, Maxie Carol (Doug) Mullins, Debra Lynn Potter, Judy Daryl Potter, two grandchildren, Racheal (Will) VanHoose, Scott (Regina) Mullins, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020 at 2p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker, Barry Lucas, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery at Elkhorn Creek
