Hobert Dye, age 88, of Harold, KY, formerly of Powell’s Creek, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on December 21, 1932 the son of the late Charlie and Ida Howell Dye. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Nadine Dye. Hobert is survived by his wife, Carol F. Blackburn Dye, by two daughters, Derenda Duty and Tammy Dye, by two stepdaughters, Melanie Johnson and Melita Cooke, by a sister, Betty West Justice, by a brother, Phillip West, two grandsons, Patrick Duty, Ben Duty, by a cousin, Sandra Howell Branham as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Brian Horton and Larry Keene, officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana. Special singing services will be held on Monday evening at 6 PM.
