Jack Woodrow Thacker, age 71, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Jack was born on May 19, 1947 to his parents the late Jewette Thacker and Vicy Dales Thacker. Jack was a nurse practitioner at Belfry Mountain Comp, msn nsg admin at Spaldin University, mental health at University of Kentucky, nsg education Bellarmine University, worked at Veterans Admin in Nashville, Tn., Lexington, Ky., Charleston, S.C., Huntington, WV., also worked at Pikeville Medical Center, and he also served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam War, serving three years in Germany. Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Jean Thacker, Juanita Harmon, and Lorelle Thacker, and one niece, Lisa Marie Griggs. Jack is survived by five brothers, Jewette Reed (Pattie) Thacker, Leon Thacker, Phillip Thacker, Eddie (Regina) Thacker, Richard Thacker, two sisters, Pauline Huffman, Teresa (Terry) Griggs, a special friend, Joyce Lynn Thompson, a host of loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m. with Church of Christ Ministers officiating. Church services will be Thursday at 7p.m. with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. The funeral will be Friday, June 29, 2018 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Church of Christ Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Thacker Cemetery at Red Creek.
