James Ervin Bentley, age 84, of Pikeville, Ky., passed away at his residence on Friday, June 23, 2023. James was born in Pike County, Ky. on January 28, 1939, to his parents the late Alvin Bentley and Virgie Adkins Bentley. James was retired from Ford Motor Company, Bizzack Road Construction work, reupholstered furniture. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Good Ole Boys Car Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marie Easterling, brother, Oliver Bentley, two brothers in law, Eli Thacker, T.J. Miller and a great grandchild, Skyler Jade Adkins. James is survived by the mother of his children, Betty Sue Bentley, two sons, Robin Bentley, Kent Douglas Bentley, two daughters, Tammy M. Mullins (Richard) and Angela Tackett. He is also survived by a brother, Lester Gene Bentley (Patty), three sisters, Faye Thacker, Panza Miller, Patricia Bentley (Randy). James is survived by seven grandchildren, Ashley, Derrick, Tyler, Andrea, Candace, James Cecil, Aurora Delilah, eight great grandchildren, Peyton, Jackson, Arrabella, Ezra, Maxwell, Alice, Weston, Erin and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, 26, 2023, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with services at 7:00 PM. both nights. Funeral will be Wednesday, 28, 2023, 1:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Tim Coleman and Randy Bentley officiating. Burial will be at the Alvin Bentley Cemetery on Bad Fork of Rockhouse.
