James Jeffrey Taylor, age 68, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Pikeville Medical Center. James was born on May 3, 1953 to his parents Emogene Taylor and the late Jesse James Taylor. He was the husband of the late Rose Ann Taylor, an electrician in the coal mines, a member of the U.M.W.A., and a member of New Beginnings Church of God. Along with his wife and father, James was preceded in death by one brother, Chris Taylor. Along with his mother, James is survived by one daughter, Paula Suzanne (Len Edward) Maynard, nephew, James Douglas Taylor, one brother, Robbie (Sherri) Taylor, two grandchildren, Halie Morgan Schwerin, Justin Dillon Maynard, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Steve Byers, and Dewayne Abshire officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park in Big Rock, Va.
