James Malcom Young, age 85, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Malcom was born on April 30, 1933 to his parents the late Alfred Young and Betty Thompson Young. He was the husband of the late Carol Jean Young, a coal miner, and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. Along with his wife and parents, Malcom was preceded in death by three brothers, Harmon, Curtis, and John Jr. Young, and two sisters, Grace Robinette, and Christine McGuire. Malcom is survived by one brother, Buddy Young, and two sisters, Lucy Robinette, Bronis Persons, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church at Brushy. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 at 11a.m. at the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery at Varney.
