J.B. Compton, age 80, of Radcliff, Ky, formerly of Island Creek, Pikeville, KY., passed away on August 27, 2021, at the home of his son. J.B. was born in Pike County, Ky., on December 27, 1940, to his parents the late Georgie Compton and Lilly Leedy Compton. J.B. was of the Baptist Faith and was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator. J.B. served his Country Honorably in the United States Army, from June 3, 1960 to May 31, 1963, as an engine Equipment Mechanic. He served sixteen months in Korea and finished the remainder of term at Ft. Belvoir, Va. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Emilee Justice her husband Junior Justice, and a brother in law, Roger Cannup. J.B was a 1960 graduate of Mullins High School. He is survived by a son, Gary Compton (Stella), of Radcliff, Kentucky, a daughter, Anntionette Crowell (Neal) of LeBanon, Tennessee. A brother Cecil Compton (Pat), a sister, Patty Cannup, three grandchildren, Bobby Mullins (Charlotta) of Moorehead, Kentucky, Corey Mullins, (Keisha) of Pikeville, Ky., Kolby Mullins (Kaity) of Lebanon, Tennessee. Survived by seven great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, August 29, 2021, at 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with church services at 7:00 PM. Prior to the funeral visitation will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021, from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, August 30, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with John Paul Hamilton will be officiating. Entombment will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Shelbiana, Ky.
