Joanne Calton

Joanne Calton, age 74, of Jonican, Pikeville, Ky. passed away at her home on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Joanne was born in Pike County, Ky on July 29, 1947, to her parents the late Mitchell B. Slone and Celia Thacker Slone. Joanne was a retired School Teacher employed by Pike County Board of Education. Joanne was the wife of the late Hargis Dale Calton. She was a member of the Bowling Fork Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister Pearlie Faye Slone. She is survived by two sons, James Dale Calton (Diana), Bobby Burns (Jackeline), three daughters, Celia Damron (Joshua), Jennifer Parsons (John) and Mary Droke. She is also survived by three brothers, Johnnie Slone (Lynne), David Slone (Lisa), Jimpy Dale Slone (Debbie), ten grandchildren, Heaven, Erik, Sara, Cecilia, Haleigh, Kayci, Jasmine, Ryreygh, John Dale, and Addox; six great grandchildren, Katalina, Emmalyn, Mia, Freya, Alexander, Lucian and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2022, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with services at 7:00 PM. with Chris Bartley officiating. Funeral will be Thursday, July 28, 2022, a 11:00 AM at the Little Flock Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Thacker Family Cemetery at Jonican, Ky.
