Joey Wayne Tackett

    Joey Wayne Tackett, age 53, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Joey was born on Feb. 7, 1971 to his parents the late Harold Ray Tackett and Janie Lou Damron Tackett.  He was the husband of Jessica Hopkins Tackett, a retired foreman in the coal mines, and a member of the Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church at Regina, Ky.  He was also a member of the Thomas C. Cecil #375 Masonic Lodge in Pikeville.

    Along with his wife, Joey is survived by three daughters, Payton (Samuel) Newcomb, Hannah Sanders, Jessalan Perry, one brother, Harold Keith (Lora) Tackett, two grandchildren, Payson and Gatlin, and a host of loving family and friends.

    Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Friday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 1 P.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jonathan Sawyers and Gary Hall officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dow Brooks cemetery at Elkhorn City.
