John G. Hayes

John G. Hayes, age 60, of Phyllis, Ky., passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the Pikeville Medical Center. John was born in Pike County, Ky., on June 10, 1962, to his parents the late Donnie Hayes and Janice Varney Hayes. John was a retired coal miner. He is the husband of the late Lisa Hayes. John is survived by his sons, Christopher Walter Hayes and Donnie Gerald Hayes. He is survived by two brothers, Donald Hayes and Bradley Hayes and a sister, Kathy Ward. John is survived by three grandchildren, Christopher Hayes, Zachary Hayes, Jeremiah Hayes and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 4:00 PM, at the Edo Freewill Baptist Church, with church services Sunday and Monday nights at 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 12 Noon, at the Edo Freewill Baptist Church with Matt Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Varney Cemetery at Phyllis, Ky.
