Joyce Adkins, age 74, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Joyce was born on April 3, 1950 to her parents the late Jack Anderson and Euna Murphy Anderson. She was the wife of the late Clifford Adkins, a homemaker, and a member of the Harold Church of Christ.
Along with her husband and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Terry, and Ronald Dean Anderson, and one great grandchild, Isaac Smith.
Joyce is survived by one daughter, Joanna (Rick) Varney, one son, Clifford (Mindy) Adkins, foster daughter, Kimberly Jo Feltner, three brothers, Charles Anderson, David Anderson, Gary Anderson, five sisters, Nita Kelso, Lois Newsome, Doris Smith, Sherry Williams, Patsy Williamson, six grandchildren, Adam Varney, Ericka Smith, Cassie Varney, Alexa Adkins, Isaiah Adkins, Kari Adkins, one foster granddaughter, Danielle Grubb, one great grandchild, Annie Smith, three step great grandchildren, Wyatt, Lylah, and Sadie Varney, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 11 A.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Joe Horne and Jim Orrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Family Cemetery at Phyllis, Ky.
