J.S. Walters, age 86, of Big Creek Road, Hatfield, Ky, passed away on October 16, 2018, at the Pikeville Medical Center. J.S. Walters was born in Pike County, Kentucky, on December 12, 1931, to his parents the late George W. Walters and Gladys Ward Walters. J.S. Walters was a coalminer and a carpenter and a member of the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church. J.S. Walters was the husband of Allie Mae Walters and have been married for 61 years. J.S. was preceded in death by his parents, one son, James Edward Walters, three brothers, Zach Walters, Bradley Walters, Bill Walters, four sisters, Etta Sue Tunnicliff, Betty Lou Caines, Barbara Jean Hall, and Nancy Ann Lowe. J.S. is survived by his wife, Allie Mae Walters, two sons, Brian Keith Walters (Sabrena), Lonnie Walters (Vera), one daughter, Rita Church (Billy). J.S. is survived by two brothers, Wendell W. Walters (Annetta), George C. Walters, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.Visitation for J.S. Walters will be Thursday, 6:00 PM, October 18, 2018, at the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church, Brushy, Ky. Church services will be Thursday and Friday night at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 20, 2018, 12:00 Noon at the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church, Brushy, Ky, with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Rockhouse Fork of Big Creek, Hatfield, Ky.
