Julie Hopson

Julie Hopson, age 80, of Jenkins, Ky. passed away at her home on April 1, 2023. Julie was born in Pike County, Ky. on July 23, 1942, to her parents the late Delano Mullins and Rosie Wright Mullins. Julie was a homemaker and a member of the Dorton Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Julie was the widow of Johnny Hopson. Julie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nine brothers and sisters and a son-in-law, Bobby Akers. Julie is survived by a son, Johnny D. (Veronica) Hopson, three daughters, Toni (John) Horton, Virginia (Dean) Ray, and Tina Akers. She is survived by ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, three special nieces, Judy DeAnn Adkins, Angie (James) Rutherford, Roni (James) Long, host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, April 2, 2023, 6:00 PM at the Dorton Old Regular Baptist Church, with church services both Sunday and Monday nights at 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Tuesday, April 4, 2023, 1:00 PM at the Dorton Old Regular Baptist Church, with James Tackett and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Mullins Family Cemetery located on Dorton Creek Road.
