Lawrence Eugene Allen

Lawrence Eugene Allen, age 93, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Eugene was born on August 17, 1925 to his parents the late William "Bill" Allen and Nancy Morris Allen.  He was the husband of the late Doris Adkins Allen, a retired coal miner, a member of the Miller's Creek Church of Christ, and he also served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II.       Along with his wife and parents, Eugene was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Morris, Roy Morris, and one sister, Zenna Blackburn.      Eugene is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Brad) Fuller, Teresa (Rodney) Chapman, two sons, Darrell (Belinda) Allen, Dean (Debbie) Allen, one brother, Jennings Allen, one sister, Lawuna Gannon, special caregiver, Diana Miller, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.      Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Friday at 12 noon at the Miller's Creek Church of Christ of Phyllis.  Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019 at 1p.m. at the Miller's Creek Church of Christ with Bryant Justice, Jim Abshire, and Dewayne Abshire officiating.  Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
