Lester Gene Bentley

Lester Gene Bentley, age 87, passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at his home. Gene was born in Pike County, Kentucky, on August 1, 1936, to his parents the late Alvin Bentley and Virgie Adkins Bentley. Gene was the husband of Patty Jean Mae Bentley and a believer of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Gene was the owner operator of Gene's Pizza Shop, he was a coalminer, and a truck driver. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Oliver Lee Bentley (Freda) and James Ervin Bentley, One sister, Myrtle Marie Easterling (Frank), Two Brothers in law, Eli Thacker and Taulby "T.J." Miller. Gene is survived by his wife of 37 years Patty Jean Mae Bentley, daughter Connie (Rob) Vanover. Gene is survived by two grandchildren, Kelly Lee Reese Townes, Daniel Eric Reese, five great grandchildren, Adam Cade Townes, Ivey Elizabeth Townes, Carter Allen Reese, Samuel Chester Reese, Jacob Levi Reese He is also survived by three sisters, Wanda Faye Thacker, Panza Miller, Patricia Lynn (Randy) Bentley and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, November 20, 2023, 11:00 AM, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Funeral will be Monday, November 20, 2023, at 11:30 AM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Gary Hall and Bill Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Alvin Bentley Cemetery located at Bad Fork of Rockhouse, Ky.
