Mae Tackett

Mae T. Tackett, age 90, of Booker Fork, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Mae was born on Nov. 18, 1927 to her parents the late Sol Hamilton and Lovenia Newsome Hamilton.  She was the wife of the late Lum Hillard Tackett, a sales clerk and store owner, and a member of the Caney Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.    Along with her husband and parents, Mae was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Melissa Opal Mae Tackett, one son in law, Paul David Justice,  three brothers, John L., Sam, and William Hamilton, and four sisters, Melvina Newsome, Opal Trout, Beulah Quinn, and May Tilda Hamilton.     Mae is survived by one son, Grover S. (Faye) Tackett, three daughters, Joyce Justice, Joan (Burnin) White, Beverly (Jeff) Walters, one brother, Jay Hamilton, one sister, Madeline Tackett, four grandchildren, Grover Seth Tackett, Jennifer Davis, Cory White, Morgan Walters, two great grandchildren, Alyssa Davis, Hudson White, and a host of loving family and friends.    Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Logan Kiser, Chester Johnson and others officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lum H. Tackett Cemetery at Booker Fork.
