Malinda Newsome

Malinda Newsome, age 64, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Malinda was born on May 30, 1958 to her parents the late G.C. McCown and Thelma Mercer McCown. She was the wife of Corbet Dewayne Newsome for over 35 years, a homemaker, and a believer of the Christian Faith. Along with her parents, Malinda was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Lee McCown and one sister, Sharon McCown Chaffin. Along with her husband, Malinda is survived by two daughters, Carrie (Josh) Justice, Katelyn Newsome, one brother, Grover (Ursula) McCown, four sisters, Ethel (Ellis) Kiser, Glema Cox, Pamela (Russell) Osborne, Malissa McCown, two grandchildren, Bryson Justice, Timmy Little, a host of loving neces, nephews, famiy, and friends who will miss her dearly. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Greg White, Darrell Newsome, and Randy Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
