Marilyn Compton

Marilyn Compton, age 90, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2020 at her home on Flora Street of Pikeville. Marilyn was born on Nov. 26, 1929 to her parents the late Jimper Deskins and Ethel Justice Deskins. She was the wife of the late Paul Compton, former Coal Run City Commissioner for many many years, and a retired manager with Bellsouth Phone Company. Marilyn was a very active member of her church, Immanuel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School to all ages over the years. Along with her husband and parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her son in law, Monte Grimes, five brothers, and one sister. Marilyn is survived by one daughter, Paula Compton Grimes, five sisters, Jean Huffman, Emogene McNulty, Hilda Williams, Shelia (Tony) Marconi, Pat Hunt, one granddaughter, Stephanie Grimes, one great grandchild Devin Grimes, and a host of loving family and friends. There will be a private family funeral.
