Mark Douglas Salyer

Mark Douglas Salyer, age 69, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Mark was born on May 14, 1954 to his parents the late Luther Salyer and Verta Potter Salyer. He was the husband of Valerie Bentley Salyer, retired in 2015 as a Wal Mart associate for over 25 years, and a member of the Shelby Valley Church of Christ. Along with his wife, Mark is survived by one daughter, Allison McKenzie Salyer, his twin brother: Mike Salyer, niece, Megan Salyer, mother in law: Inez Bentley, brother in law: Shannon Bentley, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Shelby Valley Church of Christ. Church services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m. The funeral will be Monday, August 7, 2023 at 12 noon at the Shelby Valley Church of Christ with Greg Johnson, Don Tackett, and Shawn Burgraff officiating. Burial will follow in the Bentley Family Cemetery up Long Fork.
