Marvin Burchett

Marvin J. Burchett, age 76, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Marvin was born on May 25, 1942 to his parents the late Willie Burchett and Cella Riddle Burchett.  He was the husband of Virginia Allen Burchett, a retired employee of Appalachian Steel and a saw mill employee, and he was also a believer of the Pentecostal Faith.      Along with his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by five sisters, Laura, Cora, Katheryn, Goldie, Jettie, one grandson, James Jimmy Thacker, two great grandchildren, Kilynn Nicole Hendrix, and Juan Antonio Rodriguez.      Along with his wife, Marvin is survived by three daughters, Sharon Thacker, Tammy (Brian) Short, Jessica (Roy) Justice, three sons, Terry (Jessie) Burchett, Keith (Lynette) Burchett, Gary (Ellie) Justice, one brother, William (Sue) Burchett, two sisters, Garnett Maynard, Inis (Rodie) Varney, twenty five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.     Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  The funeral will be Friday February 8, 2019 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Dewayne Abshire officiating.
