Michael Calvin Chavis

Michael Calvin Chavis age 74, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Ky. He was born on July 23, 1949 to his parents the late Virgil "Trinidad" Chavis and Ruth Juanita Hastings Chavis. He was the husband of Debby Smith Chavis and a retired coal miner. Along with his parents, Michael was preceded in death by one daughter, Amber Ann Tibbs, and two sisters: Anna Ray Looney and Benita Faye Hurst. Along with his wife, Michael is survived by four children, Michael Anthony Chavis, Ammie Ruth Chavis, Jeremy Shane (Sarah) Chavis, Ned (Katrina) Miller Jr., one brother, Ralph Larry Hurst, nine grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Memorial service will be Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 1 P.M. at the Jenkins Payne Gap Cemetery at Jenkins, Ky.
