Mollie June Mullins

May 12, 1934 — March 30, 2019

Mollie June Elkins Mullins, age 84, of Wytheville, Virginia passed from this earth into her eternal reward on March 30, 2019. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She fought the good fight, she kept the faith, and she never stopped believing in the goodness and grace of her Lord. She is no longer battling with the struggles of this life but has entered her Heavenly abode into the everlasting, loving arms of her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. "In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I (Jesus) would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." (John 14:2-3). She was born May 12, 1934 in Dorton Kentucky. She was married July 21, 1953 and moved to Michigan as a newlywed where she raised her family. After Mollie gave her heart to the Lord in November of 1979, she joined the Old Regular Baptist Church of Ypsilanti Michigan. She retired from the Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti Michigan and moved to Wytheville Virginia where she enjoyed her retirement years cooking, gardening and sharing time with her family and friends.She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Haskil Sterling Mullins;her precious son, Lester James Mullins:her parents Jack and Roxie Branham Elkins; and several brothers and sisters. Mollie is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Sterling Ray and Kimberly Mullins of Hillsdale Michigan; one daughter, Patricia Diane Mullins of Wytheville, Virginia; two granddaughters and grand-son-in-laws, Chris and Chasidy Mullins Yowell of Luray Virginia, and Bob and Courtney Mullins Throop of Lansing Michigan: and one great-grandson, Tristan Yowell of Luray Virginia; one sister and brother-in-law, Harold and Violet Elkins Mullins of Jenkins Kentucky, one special “brother”, Johnnie Elkins of Mesa Arizona; two brother-in-laws, Jessie and Wilma Mullins of Hamlin, West Virginia and Freddie and Della Mullins of Prestonsburg Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.She loved her family and made many sacrifices for them so that they could have a good life. She may not have won any awards or received any medals in this life, but we know that she has received a crown in glory for all the good and wonderful things she did as a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt, friend and as a child of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 5p.m. to 8p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Funeral service will begin at 6:30p.m. on Tuesday at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Barry Lucas and others officiating.
