Morris Smith

    Morris Delmar Smith, age 84 of Joe's Creek passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at his home.  Morris was born on August 19, 1940 to his parents the late William McKinley Smith and Leatha Gross Smith.  He was the husband of Joyce Smith, a retired school teacher and social worker, and a member of the Mike's Branch Church of Christ.

     Along with his parents, Morris was preceded in death by five brothers, Nick, Hezekiah, Vas, Henry, and Emmitt Smith, and four sisters, Katherine, Lydia, Nell, and Justine.

     Along with his wife, Morris is survived by one son, Morris (Shondale) Smith Jr., one sister, Marcella Smith, one grandson, Donavan Prince Smith, step granddaughter, Madison Ray, and a host of loving family and friends.

    Visitation will be Thursday and Friday at 3p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.   The funeral will be Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jim Slone officiating.  Burial will follow in the Henry Taylor Cemetery at Brushy.
