Nina Sue Blackburn

Nina Sue Blackburn, age 82, of Pikeville, Ky., passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Nina was born in Pike County, Ky. on August 29, 1938, to her parents the late Elster Fred Carter and Elsie Roberts Carter. She had many different careers in her life time, she was the owner of Nina Sue Trucking Company, employed by Pike County Board of Education as a cook at the Mullins High School and later she was one of the door greeters at Walmart in Pikeville. She was the widow of Ray Edward Blackburn. She was attention the Pentecostal Church. Nina was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter, Cynthia Blackburn, a brother, Donnie Carter, two sisters, Peggy Carter Meade, Mary Ann Carter Maynard. Nina is survived by five sons, Mark Blackburn (Della), Freddie Edward Blackburn, Gregory Ray Blackburn (Barbara), Christopher Edward Blackburn, David Blackburn (Barbara), two daughters, Tammy Renea Blackburn, Katherine Blackburn Owens (Michael). She is survived by a brother, Danny Carter, nineteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, March 29, 2021, 6:00 PM, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home, also church service Monday and Tuesday nights at 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Wednesday, March 31, 2021, 1:00 PM, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Levi Coleman and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Shelbiana, Ky.
