Nolan Newcomb

Nolan E. Newcomb, age 79, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at his home. Nolan was born on April 22, 1944 to his parents the late Jay Newcomb and Irene Bartley Newcomb. He was the husband of the late Martha Damron Newcomb, a retired coal miner, and a member of the Caney Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his wife and parents, Nolan was preceded in death by one daughter, Janie Newcomb Standifur, two brothers, James Theodore Newcomb and Robert Ervin Newcomb, one sister, Charlene Newcomb, two grandchildren, Dakota Compton and Joshua Johnson. Nolan is survived by one daughter, Tonya (Tim) Compton, two sisters, Helen Damron (Cookie), Aloma Hart, two grandchildren, Ashley Miller, Jason Johnson, several great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, August 13, 2023 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Robbie Osborne, Jerry Overstreet, Jimmy Dale Sanders, Logan Kiser, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana.
