Oliver Slone

Oliver Slone Jr., age 76, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Oliver was born on January 1, 1943 to his parents the late Ballard Slone and Mercy Thacker Slone.  He was the husband of Emma Compton Slone, a retired mechanic for Williamson Oil Company, and a believer of the Baptist Faith.     Along with his parents, Oliver was preceded in death by one brother, Guy Slone.     Along with his wife, Oliver is survived by three daughters, Patricia Slone, Sherry Slone, Ethel Bray, two sons, Oliver Slone Jr., J.C. Roer, five grandchildren, Johnathan Skeens, Santana Sanchez, Jaycob Roer, Isaiah Roer, Oliver Dylan Slone, two great grandchildren, Braxton Allen Skeens and Paislee Grace Roer, and a host of loving family and friends.  Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.  Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 1p.m at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Leonard Hamilton, A.B. Thacker, and others officiating.  Burial will follow in the Compton Cemetery at Island Creek.
