Orchid Wright

Orchid Sanders Wright age 95, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at her home.  Orchid was born on January 11, 1930 to her parents the late Troy Sanders and Ida Childers Sanders.  She was retired post master at Dorton Post Office and a member of the Dorton United Methodist Church where she was treasurer for many years.

     Along with her parents, Orchid was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Bowling, one son, Danny Wright, daughter in law, Patricia Wright, four sisters, Alka Ison, Aileen Ison, Mary Stidham, and Andra Sowards.

     Orchid is survived by two daughters, Pamela Deskins, Karen (Joey) Robinson, son in law, Charles Bowling, seven grandchildren, Michelle Wright, Michael (Debbie) Wright, David (Rebecca) Bowling, Kristin (Greg) Napier, Josh (Courtney) Robinson, Brittany (Adam) Deskins, Bethany (Ryan) Ingmand, sixteen great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.

     Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Thursday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Friday March 7, 2025 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Leonard Lowery officiating.  Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park at Pikeville.
