Paul "Pete" Benner

March 12, 1961 — May 2, 2024

Paul Jennings "Pete" Benner, 63, of Pikeville, KY passed away on May 2, 2024 at UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, KY.  The family would like to thank the amazing healthcare professionals from both Pikeville Medical Center and University of Kentucky Medical Center for their exceptional care throughout this time.  We would like to thank our family and friends who have so generously given their prayers, support, love and compassion during this difficult time.
He was a man of faith and optimism.  He enjoyed spending time with his soul mate, his beloved wife and constant companion, Trulena.  He had a light-hearted humor and easy demeanor.  He loved jokes, brain-teasers, puns, history, television and movie trivia, playing video games, collecting trinkets and called himself an art collector and adventurer.  His quick wit and sense of humor allowed him to find humor and fun in everyday life.  He was much beloved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Greathouse Benner; father, Paul Benner; and brother, William "Greg" Steele all from Pikeville, KY.     He is survived by his wife, Trulena Benner of Pikeville, KY.  He is also survived by his son Israel Joe Benner of Tucson, Arizona and one granddaughter, Jasmine Benner of Tucson, Arizona.  He is also survived by his sisters-in law Susan Bridgeman of Lexington, KY and Victoria Bryant of Pikeville, KY and two nephews, Ryker Bryant of Pikeville, KY and Jonathon (Tierra) Bryant and three great nephews and one great niece of Clarksville, TN and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.
His memorial service will be held Saturday May 4, 2024, from 4 P.M.-10 P.M. at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home in Pikeville, KY.
