Pearlie Newsome

Pearlie J.Newsome, age 92, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on January 22, 1930 to her parents the late Orbin Johnson and Galvestia Hall Johnson. She was the wife of the late Teddy J. Newsome, a homemaker, and a member of Caney Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Pearlie was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Johnson, three sisters, Emma Newsome, Mae Newsome, and Molly Slone. Pearlie is survived by two sons, Claude (Gerri) Newsome of Radcliffe, KY, Roy Michael (Carol) Newsome of Virgie, KY, one sister, Mazie Bates, two brothers, Freddie Johnson, Charles Branham, three grandchildren, Gregory Neil (Stacy) Newsome, Michelle Lynn (Melvin) Caudill, Crystal Renee (James) Mullins, seven great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Eric Fleming, Morgan Chapman, and Brian Hundley officiating. Burial will follow in the Rob Newsome Cemetery at Little Robinson Creek.
