Ricky Lynn Newsome

Ricky Lynn Newsome, age 61, of Virgie, Ky. passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Ricky Lynn was born on August 24, 1959, to his parents the late Calvin Newsome and Polly Holbrook Newsome. Ricky was a retired coal miner and was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was the husband of Janet Robinson Newsome. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents. Ricky is survived by his wife, Janet Robinson Newsome, two daughters, Mary Newsome, Misty McClanahan (David). Survived by four brothers, Costello Newsome (Brenda), Randy Newsome (Micki), Larry Newsome, Jackie Newsome (Ida), and by five sisters, Rapunzel Hall (Donnie), Linda Johnson (Freddie), Brenda Varner, Vonell Wolford (Ernest), Joan Hammond (Mike). Ricky is survived by six grandchildren Trevor Newsome, Dawson Newsome, Desiree McClanahan, Brayden Newsome, Destiny McClanahan, Daelynn McClanahan and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00 PM, April 5, 2021, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, 12:00 Noon, April 6, 2021, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Donnie Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Newsome Cemetery, Little Robinson Creek, KY.
