Roger Dean Bolden, age 67, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Roger was born on April 7, 1952 to his parents the late Auda Bolden and Ada Justice Bolden. He was the husband of Helen Hamilton Bolden, a coal miner, and a member of the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Roger was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Dean Bolden, one brother, Dempsie Bolden, and two sisters, Augustine Bryant and Loretta Adkins. Along with his wife, Helen, Roger is survived by two daughters, Melissa Ann Bevins, Angela (Pernell) Roberts, three brothers, Auda Jr. Bolden, Donald Bolden, Delmer Bolden, six sisters, Geneva Coleman, Josephine Harris, Lottie Slone, Patty Maynard, Audrey Lathrop, Juanita Adkins, nine grandchildren, MaKayla (Chris) Lawson, Kimberly Ratliff, Adam (Brooke) Swiney, Jarred Waddles, Dougie (Bobbi) Waddles, Brandon Bolden, Blake (Miriah) Bolden, Courtney Roberts, Savannah Swiney, twelve great grandchildren, Zack Stanley, James, Braxton, & Paxton Lawson, Bentley Hall, Owen & Garyson Waddles, Rodney & Beckett Bolden, Nevaeh Swiney, Aubrie & Kaitlyn Bearden, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Billy Akers, Randy Newsome, Ronnie Paul Mullins, James Mullins, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana.
