Ronnie Gene Sturgill

Ronnie Gene Sturgill, age 70, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019, at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Ronnie was born on June 10, 1948 to his parents the late Rush Sturgill and Mary Belle Justice Sturgill.  He was the husband of Carol Dotson Sturgill, a journeyman mill wright and diesel mechanic mechanic for Whayne Supply Company, and a member of the Mayflower Unity Baptist Church at Johns Creek.  He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War.      Along with his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Dale Sturgill and one sister, Priscilla Ann McKinney.     Along with his wife, Ronnie is survived by one son, Steven (Amy Fisher) Sturgill, and a host of loving family and friends.     Visitation will be Sunday at 5p.m. at the Toler Creek Freewill Baptist Church.  Church services will be Sunday and Monday at 7p.m.   The funeral will be Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 1p.m. at the Toler Creek Freewill Baptist Church with James Newman and Tim McClanahan officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rush Sturgill Family Cemetery at Toler Creek.
