Rose Compton, age 89, left this world peacefully with her family by her side at Pikeville Medical Center on December 12, 2023. She was born November 30, 1934 to her parents the late Raymond Milam and Julia Harmon Milam. She was the wife of the late Fletcher Compton ( a retired US Air Force Veteran).
Rose was a homemaker and a member of the Coal Run Church of Christ.
Along with her husband and parents, Rose was preceded in death by her son in law, Chad Goodman, four brothers, Eugene Milam, Raymond Milam, Lin Milam, Joe Milam, and one sister, Inez Sword.
She is survived by her two loving children, Leah Goodman, Joel (Paula) Compton, her two "favorite" grandchildren, Jenna (Matthew) Bouchard, Jonathan (Caitlyn) Compton, two great grandchildren, Brooks and Bailey Bouchard, her cousin: Bobby (Birdie) Blackburn, his sons, Andy and Wes Blackburn, Special Friend: Joe Bear (Jennifer) Taylor and his daughter, Terra, special friend: David (Audra) Castaldo, special friend: Marty Maniates, several nieces and nephews, and family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be Sunday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Monday, December 18, 2023 at 1 P.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jerry Bliffen officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family ask donations to be made to Cedar Creek Assisted Living: 156 Winston Drive Pikeville, Ky 41501
