Sharon Jill Tackett

Sharon Jill Tackett, age 81, of Virgie, KY. passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at her residence  Sharon was born on Dec. 6, 1942 to her parents the late Homer Tackett and Marie Tackett.  She was the secretary for Baird and Baird and she had recently gave her life to the Lord.

     Along with her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Ronald (Carol) Tackett and Homer Gerald Tackett.

      Sharon is survived by her special fur babies, Twin and Caesar, special caregiver/like a daughter, Susan Manganello, like a son, Johnny Manganello,  a special cousin/like a brother, Garred Cline, nieces and nephews, Pamela Blanton (Jim), Gina (Garry) Tackett, Lisa Badders, Heather Falduto (Frank) Brett Tackett (Jen) Ginjer Fasold (Billy), great nieces and nephews,  and surrounded by a lot of love and numerous caregivers and friends.

     She had a heart of gold, especially with older dogs and treated them so well....., they were lucky pups!  She was a graduate of Easter Kentucky University and retired from the Pike County Board of Education.  Her interest included Cincinnati Reds, U.K. Basketball, Christmas Hallmark movies, watching her game shows, traveling and her beloved Irish Setters.  

     Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Tyler Bentley and Shawn Kidd officiating.  Burial will follow in the P.K. Damron Cemetery.
