Shirley B. Mullins age 84, daughter of the late Gallie and Myrtle Osborne Mullins, was born at Dorton, Kentucky on September 10, 1939. She passed from this life at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky on Saturday, January 13, 2024, making her stay here on earth 84 years, four months and three days.
Shirley was an office manager for several years. She thoroughly enjoyed working with numbers which included doing taxes, bookkeeping, and working Sudoku puzzles. She enjoyed gardening, especially picking beans, canning and was very good at them.
Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband of eighteen years Charles Edward Furby and her last husband of twenty-five years Charles Webster Mullins. She was also preceded in death by seven siblings: Chester Mullins, Hazel Vanover, Virgil Mullins, Ira "Arie" Mullins, Adaree Estep, Martha Lea Adkins and Elster "Bud" Mullins. She was also preceded in death by her precious fur baby Missy.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Cheryl Furby of Fleming-Neon, Kentucky where she has made her home for the past 12 years and her son Charles E. Furby Jr. of Waverly, Ohio. She is also survived by two sisters: Betty Roberts of Ivel and Melster Roberts of Booker Fork as well as a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
-- Visitation will be at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 12 Noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Robbie Osborne officiating. The burial will follow in the Osborne family cemetery at Dorton, Kentucky
