Shirley Temple Hamilton

Shirley Temple Hamilton, age 79, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Shirley was born on Nov. 16, 1940 to her parents the late Berry Akers and Lexie Hall Akers. She was the wife of the late John Millard Hamilton, a retired dental assistant for Dr. Howard Justice, and a believer of the Baptist Faith. She also belonged to Kentucky Homemakers Association, and Pikeville Senior Citizens. Along with her husband and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by one son, Gary Dwayne Hamilton, one grandson, Brandon Berry Hall, and three brothers, Donald Ray Akers, Shadrick "Buddy" Akers, and Hershel Akers. Shirley is survived by one daughter, Brenda Ann Hamilton, one great grandson, Ethan Brandon Hall, one brother, Charles K. Akers, two sisters, Jurlene Akers Hall, Janice Akers Murphy, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 2p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday at 5:30p.m. with Chris Bartley officiating. The funeral will be Saturday July 4, 2020 at 2p.m. with Rocky Hamilton (Old Regular Baptist Minister) officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Alley Cemtery at Grethel, Ky.
