Troy Damron, age 72, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Troy was born on July 23, 1948 to his parents the late George Damron and Maudie Meadows Damron. He was the husband of Joyce Blackburn Damron, a retired coal truck driver, and a member of the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Along with his parents, Troy was preceded in death by two sisters, Eloise Bevins, Vanessa Bentley, and two brothers, George Damron Jr. and Jimmy Darrel Damron. Along with his wife, Troy is survived by one daughter, Cynthia (Chad) Adkins, two grandsons, Jacob A. Adkins, Benjamin C. Adkins, two brothers, James E. Damron, Gary Damron, five sisters, Margaret White, Wanda Thacker, Pat Lemaster, Janice Rowe, Daphene Boyd, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
