Troy James

Troy James, age 82, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Troy was born on March 21, 1940 to his parents the late Jessie James and Lora Belcher James. He was the husband of Margaret Taylor James and a believer of the Christian Faith. Troy had several jobs over the years, he was a former deputy Sheriff, retired from the Pike County Detention Center, a superintendent at Pittson Coal Company, and manager of Drift Away Farms, to name a few. Along with his parents, Troy was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil James and Geroid James. Along with his wife, Margaret, Troy is survived by one son, Richard Dale (Bernedda) James, one sister, Vernay Justice, one granddaughter, Tabitha (Justin) Childers, two great grandchildren, Kelly Anne Childers and Morgan David Chiders, and a host of loving family and friends who will miss him dearly. There will be a private family visitation and funeral. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana, Ky.
