Velma Slone Thacker

Velma Slone Thacker, age 93, of Pikeville, Ky, passed away on July 19, 2019, Friday, at her residence.  Velma was born in Pike County, Ky to her parents the late Beckham Slone and Sarah Belle Thacker Slone. Velma was a homemaker, and a member of the Philadelphia Old Regular Baptist Church. Velma was the wife of the late Robert Thacker. Velma was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, Polly Pinion and Revie Slone and several brothers. Velma is survived by three sons, Robert Thacker, Jr., (Kathy), Emmitt Thacker, (Roxie), Gary Frank Thacker, five daughters, Mandy L Thacker, Virginia Conway, Phyllis Kendrick (Larry), Loretta Thacker, Gail Thacker, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, July 21, 2019, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Sunday and Monday at 7:00Pm. Funeral will be Tuesday, July 23, 2019, 12:00 Noon at the Lucas and Son Funeral with A.B. Thacker and others officiating.  Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
