Verla Holifield

Verla Holifield, age 91, passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023 at Broward Health North. Verla was born on May 27, 1932 to her parents the late Arthur Roberts and Mae Roberts. She was the wife of the late Paul Holifield, retired from sales at Hudsons in Michigan, and a believer of the Baptist Faith. Along with her husband and parents, Verla was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Holifield, one son, Larry Holifield, one brother, Ruben Roberts, and one grandson, Lonnie Holifield. Verla is survived by one son, Thomas Holifield, one daughter in law, Wilma Holifield, six grandchildren, Mandy Mordechay, Lainey Holifield, Travis Spadaro, Yvonne Holifield, Wendy Ogle, Shana Holifield, ten great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday, Sept. 22, 2023 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Daryl Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the Combs Cemetery at Hindman, Ky.
