Violet Adkins

Violet Marie Adkins, age 69, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at her home.   Violet was born on June 16, 1949 to her parents the late Harold Bullock and Opal Boyd Bullock.  She was the wife of the late Dennis Ray Adkins, a retired employee for Kellogg's, a member of USW Local 9345 Steel Workers Lodge, and she was also a member of the Lick Creek Church of God.      Along with her husband and parents, Violet was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kiera DeNay Coleman, one sister, and two brothers.      Violet is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Coleman, one son, Dennis Ray Adkins Jr., one grandson,  Edward Chase Coleman, two sisters by choice, Helen Epling and Mary Martin, two special friends, Kathy Ratliff, Octavia Dales, and a host of loving family and friends.     Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Friday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Ray Sayers and Delon Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Adkins Family Cemetery at Poor Bottom.
