William Clay Bevins, age 85, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Clay was born on Sept. 24, 1933 to his parents the late Elmer C. Bevins and Annie Bevins. He was the husband of Marie Thompson Bevins and a member of the Meta Baptist Church. Clay was part owner of Williamson Supply Company, a member of the Good Ol Boys Car Club, and he also served his country honorably in the United States Army. Along with his parents, Clay was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Bevins and one sister, Harlene Helvey. Along with his wife, Clay is survived by one daughter, Saundra (Jerry) Bellamy, one sister, Maria Flowers, two grandchildren, Brennan Kyle (Elizabeth) Bellamy, Bridget Lynn Bellamy, and a host of loving family and friends who will miss him dearly. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, August 31, 2019 a 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Bill Staggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana, Ky.
